Our son brought his Xterra back in for another diagnostic, at the request of Baker. The first diagnostic result given was that the car needed a new engine. Spark plugs and a few other items were replaced by my husband and the car has ran great. This new diagnostic was inconclusive, so our son was given a refund for the bill he paid earlier. The estimate was over $500, but ended up being a bit over $300 because something they thought was wrong was not. I would not have know otherwise, but they were honest.. and only fixed what was needed. I truly love that. Plus, they washed my car!! What an absolutely wonderful experience! I felt very we'll taken care of from the initial phone call all the way through to driving away with my car. Baker was very attentive and clearly explained what I could expect as far as cost, repairs, and timelines. They ended up not needing to do as much as originally planned lowering the cost of my original bid. That was nice! My car was done at the time they said it would be and they came and picked me up. Whomever picked me up (Craig or Chris??) was very professional and polite. AND THEN I left with a sparkling clean car! THAT is tremendous and really leaves a lasting impression of a fixed, clean, and happy car. Job very well done on all levels. Thank you. Before we left San Antonio, TX we were quote a price so high for the repairs required that we just decided to wait until we relocated to Sacramento. We found automotive Service of Roseville on Angie's List, they were rated very well so we contacted them expecting to go deep in debt for repairs. We were happily shocked when we were told some of the items we were told were in need of repairs were not and the repairs that were need was not nearly as costly as previously quoted and was done in a professional prompt manner. We had a minor service, and wheel alignment on our Corolla. A 30k mile service, wheel alignment and other work on our Outback. We got an oil change and smog certification on our Wrangler. A friend recommended Auto Service of Roseville to me after I had a terrible experience with a repair shop (Quality Auto) down the street. As soon as I walked into the ARS office I felt a sense of ease. The staff was welcoming, HONEST, respectful, and they fixed my car! They replaced my radiator and ignition switch & let me know what repairs could wait. They communicated with me thru the whole process and even offered a ride to my work if I needed it. Before my visit to ASR another garage told me I was very close to needing a brake job, 2/32nd of an inch. My vehicle is only a couple of years old so that didn't seem right. Based on their reputation and Angie's List I decided to take it to ASR. As it turned out I have 5/32nd and 6/32nd left on my brakes. That equates to many thousands of miles. I went in expecting to spend $500+ and left with a receipt that said "no charge". That folks, is as honest as a company can be. I found your employees and business to be very professional and courteous. They took a look at my car and called back to let me know how much it would cost for repair. I was given two choices; it was a Saturday the part that they did have costed more but had another part that was less but could not get it till Monday. I was asked what I would like to do; most repair shops would not give you a choice but would select the more costly repair. I was very impressed that they were looking out for saving me such a costly expense. They did a very good job; my car runs as quiet as it was the day I purchased it and they also gave it a car wash before I picked it up. I'm a loyal customer, but I'm not thrilled that my car has a high pitched "whine" following the timing belt replacement. The mechanic said the belt was put on tightly because if not after about 30K. miles it would be very noisy. My car has 57k miles and is a 2002 that has never had a noisy engine............Also, I discovered my audio system was not working. I had to take it to the Honda dealer to get the security code and re-activate the system as the radio thought it was disconnected when the battery was during the timing belt replacement. I recently woke up to find coolant leaking into my interior of my car. I reached out to the dealer but the cost was substantial. When I spoke with ASR, they were able to save me hundreds of dollars and I have always trusted the crew at ASR. Autowest dealership told me that they couldn't measure anything on my rear brakes, and that I should replace them soon. I decided to go for a second opinion at ASR - They measured plenty of rear brake pad left. They performed the brake inspection for free, and even washed my car afterwards! Acouple comments: Once when I came in your desk host changed a burntout light on my car for free. I thought that was cool. Then several months later I brought in another car with a burnt out light and another desk host who was new said it was all time and money and charged me $15 for one minute change. Anyway that annoyed me, not the cost but the manner that it was presented. Secondly when I had an oil change on my Mercedes the desk host said I needed 7.5 quarts of sinthetic oil and charged me for it which is expense. Assuming he knew what he was talking about, I paid and left. Withing a hour hour the Mercedes RED LIGHT came on waning me that I need to drain oil or some message like that. I was home and checked on the Internet. My Mercedes C230 requires only 5.25 quarts or close to that. Anyway I returned the car to you shop and the mechanic checked and confirmed what I said only needing 5.25 quarts and drained to oil accordingly. I'd give you 5 stars, but when we dropped off our F150 truck, saying that the window motor was intermittently not working, the mechanic returned the truck to us stating he couldn't immitate the problem. Then, with him standing there, my husband showed him again that the window motor was going out. We had to bring the truck back again, which was inconvenient. We received a very honest advise from Thomas who told me that our car didn't need a cv boot axle as recommended by another shop. He advised me to monitor the cv boot and bring it in again if there is a substantial leak or noise.
